Retards make me uncomfortable
And i'm not afraid to admit it. I'm sure there are many more people out there who feel uncomfortable when meeting someone who is either intellectually or physically disabled, no matter how small the degree. I'm not afraid to admit it though. We're hard-wired to recoil in disgust against things that are genetically imperfect, be it a disability, or just plain ugliness. Who hasn't shuddered at the thought of a naked 300-pound woman?
It takes practice and patience to get over this instinctive feeling. I'm not proud of the fact that that reatards freak me out. But i'm determined to change that. I'll start by not referring to them as retards.
